Description:
FANDEMA works with women of age 18 to 65, especially with those who never went to school or dropped out of school early and want to improve their quality of life. They offer
training in basic, occupational and crosscutting education to help in the economic development of the community. Occupational training generates jobs and material that
contributes to the self-sustainability of the project.
The aim of the project is:
Improve basic education of women.

Description:
The first project of MBolo started with the collaboration of Sanchaba kamben Kafo (association of women of Tujereng). The first step was the detection of the needs of the community and the elaboration of the strategy plan.
To preserve the local crops and reduce the food dependency, collaboration was asked to build a grain mill that would allow to reduce the time to process flour.
The Association Pla de les bruixes (Torrelles de Llobregat) organized a fundraising activity and presented the project to the town hall of the city that would fund with supervision from the Fons Català de Cooperació al Desenvolupament. This allowed inaugurating the grain mill to the community of Tujereng on August 2007, with representation of the women association.
The project also went in line with sustainable tourism, since a representation of 10 women from the Asociación Pla de les Bruixes travelled to Tujereng in 2009 to live together with the women of Sanchaba Kambeng kafo, experiencing firsthand the life, pace and works of the African woman.

Description:
In the Senegalese community of Cassamance, in Giracumu, water wells dry periodically originating multiple diseases as well as making it very difficult to carry out a continuous agriculture activity.
As a result of a trip with Sambou Kunda, where we visited Giracumu, one of the travelers decided to fund the initiative to build a water point to provide drinking water and water for crops all year around in Giracumu.

Description:
The neighborhood of Jamissa in the city of Brikama (third largest city in Gambia) was not provided with running water. The population resorted to open water wells, although they usually would not have drinking water, the wells are easily polluted and the origin of many related diseases. Also, quite some time was invested by children and women in collecting and transporting water for cooking, daily hygiene, etc. It was decided to build a drinking water point for the neighborhood, pumped by photovoltaic energy that would guarantee the sustainability of the project and reduce the pollution that is more likely to occur in open wells.

Description:
Red Cross started a campaign to raise awareness and show the community that the use of insecticide treated mosquito nets highly reduces the spread and effects of malaria. It was detected that donating mosquito nets was not enough and it was needed to sensibilize and raise awareness in the community as well as monitor the implementation of the appropriate measures.
MBolo contributed to this campaign for raising awareness by creating music, lyrics and voice of the song that goes along with the video, which will be distributed in the campaign to different African countries.

Description:
Darsilami is a small rural community in Gambia, very near to the border of Senegal. The rural school does not have electricity, neither computer system.
Mbolo channeled the funding and installation of 5 computers to the classroom of Information Technology and the photovoltaic system that would allow them to power the school and incorporate new information technologies in the school curriculum.
Bottrop High School is the secondary High School of Brikama. With 10 computers and 1 server, Mbolo contributed in starting an open classroom with access to new technologies for the community of students.

Description:
The collaboration with DHL allowed sending medicines and school materials to communities in Gambia and Senegal. These materials were collected in Catalonian pharmacies, l’esplai Arc de Sant Martí i l’Associació Solidança.

In-kind contributions of material and volunteering professionals for training.
Description:
The collaboration with the Hospital of Bansang (reference hospital for the interior of Gambia) meant that 3 specialists in different areas (nursing, X-ray Diagnosis, public health and tuberculosis) asses and train professionals as well as sending multiple medical and pharmaceutical materials.
Mbolo channels professionals in the health sector, both physicians and non-physicians, to volunteer training the staff at the Hospital of Bansang.

Description:
As part of the project Yolocamba Solidaridad created alternatives for the community development against the female genital mutilation (GMF). Mbolo then followed up on the project by the creation of social and labor alternatives for women who either have suffered GMF or whose daughters are susceptible of suffering GMF.
